KTA was established by Andrew Keys in 2014. Today, the team has over 50 years of combined financial market experience.

Our People

Andrew Keys (M Bus, CPA) — Principal

Andrew has more than 30 years of international commercial finance and capital market communications experience. He has worked across a range of industries, including telecommunications, energy, construction, and mining within Australia, Indonesia, and the United Kingdom. Initially working as a finance analyst and management accountant, Andrew has demonstrated skills to analyse and understand the value drivers of businesses.

Between 2008-2014, Andrew worked within, and went on to successfully direct, the investor relations team at one of Australia’s largest and well-known corporations, Telstra. Throughout this period, Andrew led an effective market engagement program delivering valued outcomes for shareholders and the corporation, whilst maintaining a high standard of corporate governance.

Andrew draws on this rich and complete catalogue of hands-on investor relations experience, and domestic and global market contacts from the buy-side and sell-side, at his work within Keys Thomas Associates (KTA). Andrew now provides a premium suite of investor relations and corporate communications services, along with strategic advice and support, to KTA clients across ASX-listed and unlisted emerging companies, mostly in the telecommunications, financial services, real estate, fintech, and industrial sectors.

David Erskine — Senior Associate

David joined Keys Thomas Associates in 2022 following a successful stockbroking career which included long stints as the Head of Institutional Equity Sales at Shaw & Partners and as MD of Equity Sales at Citi.

David has been in the financial services industry since 1985 and previously worked for BZW Investment, where he focused on Australian equity sales. Prior to joining the financial services industry, David was a journalist for various trade journals in the UK and Australia and spent a period at The Australian newspaper as their energy and resources writer.

David is highly respected and well-known across the Australian equity market and is a valued conduit between corporates, brokers and investors. David provides an experienced perspective and input into Corporate roadshows, messaging and investor targeting.

Derek Kellett (B Comm, M Bus – Banking & Finance) — Senior Associate

Derek joins Keys Thomas Associates with over 30 years of experience in Investment Banking in the U.S. and Australia. Prior to returning to Australia, Derek managed both JP Morgan’s Australasian Equities business in New York and Credit Suisse First Boston’s Equities business in New York for a period of 15 years. In these roles, Derek participated in and led some of the largest and most diverse capital raisings and IPO’s by Australian and New Zealand companies. He was also instrumental in presenting C-Suite management teams to key U.S. institutional investors and managed high profile Investor Conferences in New York for Australian Large and Small Cap companies.

Originally from Perth, Derek spent a decade in Sydney before moving to New York. During his time in Sydney, he managed Equity Sales teams at Credit Suisse First Boston and its predecessor, First Pacific Stockbrokers. He began his finance career in Sydney in 1988 with County Natwest Securities. Derek brings extensive knowledge and experience in Capital Markets, Corporate Broking and Equity Sales/Research as well as long standing relationships with Buy and Sell Side firms.

Ann Alano — Analyst

Ann joined KTA in January 2022 and is based in the Philippines.

Ann assists Andrew with industry research and data compilation for various client objectives. Ann serves as Andrew’s virtual assistant, providing administrative support, data entry and organisation, and basic bookkeeping. Prior to KTA, Ann worked for ANZ Bank for 7 years as an Offshore International Customer Support Officer assisting NZ & AU clients.

Richard Peters – Director

Richard Peters has held senior public relations roles in mining, finance, and building materials companies over 20 years. Before founding Daymark, Richard led reputation building initiatives at the National Australia Bank where he pioneered new approaches to community banking and finance and Indigenous affairs.

John Fergusson – Director

John started his career in public relations as a researcher for a senior Federal Parliamentarian and has worked in public relations consultancies and as an in house practitioner in the banking and finance and public transport sectors. Prior to starting Daymark, John was the Stakeholder Communications Director for Myki, Victoria’s transport ticketing system. He also worked as a senior communications adviser at the National Australia Bank.
